THE ENCHANTRESS

This painting came about as a result of hearing a Perlman Music Program alumna performing last year in a concert. The young violist appeared on stage with a pianist and began describing the music they were going to play in a soft voice that gave no clue what was about to happen. As they began to play, I watched her transform into an intense and powerful musician playing fantastical music. the way she wove her tales through the Schumann,  Bartok and Prokofiev, gave me a vision of her standing in a wild wood, playing at a gypsy campfire, or weaving magic spells.

I managed to get the musician to pose for me before another concert and painted this life-size image of my vision. Because I love the Perlman Music Program so much, I decided to grant them rights to produce a series of half size giclee prints on canvas, each one numbered and signed. All proceeds go to support the Program. These prints are available from http://www.perlmanmusicprogramsuncoast.org/ for $400. stretched or $350 rolled.
