AN UNLIKELY EARL -FC

AN UNLIKELY EARL , a front cover illustration for a book by the same title.THough the design is quite simple, it was nevertheless difficult to create this image. I was challenged to get the lighting right for her standing in front of the window, a situation that throws a camera out of whack, either making the landscape outside over exposed or the girl too dark. I also made up the curtains, not being able to find the right kind and angle for my design. I extended the dress at the bottom at the art director's request, so that he had more flexibility for cropping and type. It makes her look very tall. As with so many romance covers, there is also an inside cover that is  a lot steamier.
